Nausea and Vomiting

Meaning

Nausea is the unpleasant, subjective sensation of needing to vomit, often accompanied by autonomic symptoms like pallor and sweating, while vomiting is the forceful, involuntary expulsion of gastric contents through the mouth. These symptoms are complex physiological responses often triggered by central nervous system stimuli, gastrointestinal irritation, or significant hormonal fluctuations. In endocrinology, these can be critical indicators of metabolic derangement or adverse reactions to certain therapeutic agents.
