Muscular Growth

Meaning

Muscular growth, or hypertrophy, is the increase in the size of pre-existing muscle cells, resulting in a measurable increase in muscle volume and strength. This physiological adaptation is a direct response to mechanical tension and metabolic stress, driven by a net positive protein balance. Sustained muscular growth is highly dependent on a favorable endocrine environment, particularly adequate levels of anabolic hormones and efficient nutrient delivery.
