Muscle Gain

Meaning

Muscle gain, scientifically termed muscular hypertrophy, is the biological process characterized by an increase in the size of individual muscle fibers, leading to a net increase in total skeletal muscle mass. This adaptive physiological response is primarily stimulated by resistance training and is highly dependent on an adequate nutritional status and a favorable hormonal milieu. Achieving and maintaining muscle gain is a key objective in metabolic health, as muscle tissue is a primary site for glucose disposal and energy expenditure.
