Multiparametric MRI

Meaning

Multiparametric MRI ($text{mpMRI}$) is an advanced, non-invasive diagnostic imaging technique that integrates standard anatomical magnetic resonance imaging with at least two distinct functional imaging sequences to provide a highly detailed characterization of tissue. These functional parameters typically include Diffusion-Weighted Imaging ($text{DWI}$), Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced ($text{DCE}$) imaging, and sometimes magnetic resonance spectroscopy ($text{MRS}$). The combined, integrated analysis of these multiple data sets significantly enhances the diagnostic accuracy for detecting, localizing, and staging soft tissue disease.
