Multi-Parametric MRI

Meaning

Multi-Parametric Magnetic Resonance Imaging (mpMRI) is an advanced, non-invasive diagnostic imaging technique that systematically combines multiple distinct sequences to generate comprehensive anatomical and functional information about a specific organ or tissue. Unlike standard MRI, mpMRI integrates high-resolution structural imaging with functional data, such as diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) imaging. In the hormonal health domain, it is an essential tool for the high-precision localization and characterization of glandular pathologies, including suspicious lesions in the prostate or pituitary adenomas. This sophisticated imaging modality offers significantly enhanced diagnostic specificity.
