mTORC1 Signaling Pathway

Meaning

The mechanistic Target of Rapamycin Complex 1, a critical, multi-protein intracellular signaling node that acts as a master integrator of diverse environmental and cellular cues, including nutrient availability, growth factor stimulation, and cellular energy status. This pathway is a central regulator of cell growth, proliferation, protein synthesis, and lipid metabolism. Chronic, aberrant hyperactivation of mTORC1 is a key pathological factor implicated in various age-related diseases and conditions, including acne, obesity, and certain cancers.
