Modified New Drug

Meaning

A Modified New Drug (MND) is a term used in regulatory contexts to describe a pharmaceutical product that is a variation of an already approved drug, often involving a change in dosage form, route of administration, strength, or a new combination with another approved agent. Unlike an Innovative New Drug, an MND does not introduce a fundamentally new chemical entity or mechanism of action. These modifications are designed to improve patient compliance, enhance therapeutic convenience, or extend the patent life of the original compound.
