Mitochondrial Efficiency Scoring

Meaning

A quantitative assessment that determines the effectiveness and health of the mitochondria, the cellular organelles responsible for generating the majority of the cell’s energy currency, Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). The scoring evaluates metrics such as oxygen consumption rate, ATP production rate, and proton leak. A high score signifies robust energy production with minimal oxidative waste, which is a fundamental indicator of cellular vitality and metabolic health.
