Mild Hyperandrogenism

Meaning

Mild Hyperandrogenism is a clinical condition characterized by a modest elevation of circulating androgenic hormones, such as testosterone or DHEA-S, often presenting with subtle or incomplete clinical signs of androgen excess, primarily in women. The symptomatic presentation may include mild hirsutism, persistent acne, or minor menstrual cycle irregularity, but without the severe clinical or biochemical features typical of classic Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). This diagnosis requires careful biochemical confirmation and the systematic exclusion of rarer, more serious underlying androgen-secreting tumors.
