Migraine with Aura

Meaning

Migraine with Aura is a primary headache disorder characterized by recurrent headache attacks preceded by transient focal neurological symptoms, known as aura. These aura symptoms typically develop gradually over minutes, lasting less than an hour, and are most commonly visual, such as flickering lights, spots, or geometric shapes, though sensory, speech, or motor disturbances can also occur. The headache phase, which often follows the aura, is usually unilateral, pulsating, moderate to severe in intensity, and aggravated by physical activity, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, photophobia, and phonophobia.
