Micronutrients

Meaning

Micronutrients refer to essential vitamins and minerals required by the body in relatively small quantities to facilitate a wide array of physiological functions. These compounds, while not providing energy directly, are indispensable for cellular processes, metabolic pathways, and the maintenance of overall health. They encompass a spectrum of substances including fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K, water-soluble vitamins such as the B-complex vitamins and C, and trace minerals like zinc, selenium, iron, and iodine.
