Microneedling

Meaning

Microneedling, clinically termed Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is a minimally invasive dermatological procedure that involves the use of fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the epidermis and dermis of the skin. This procedure is designed to stimulate the skin’s natural wound healing cascade, leading to the release of growth factors and the subsequent de novo synthesis of collagen and elastin fibers. It is utilized to improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of scars, and enhance the transdermal delivery of therapeutic agents.
