Microneedle Arrays

Meaning

A microneedle array is a device comprising an array of tiny, hair-like projections, typically ranging from 25 to 2000 micrometers in length, engineered to create transient micropores in the outermost layer of the skin, the stratum corneum, without stimulating dermal nerve endings. These structures are designed to facilitate the controlled passage of substances across the skin barrier.
