Microdosing

Meaning

Microdosing, in a pharmacological context, refers to the clinical practice of administering very small, sub-therapeutic doses of a substance, typically a hormone or a psychoactive compound, that are significantly lower than the standard clinical dose. The intent is to achieve subtle physiological or psychological effects without triggering the full, acute pharmacological response or side effect profile. This strategy aims to gently modulate an endocrine or neurological system over time.
