Metabolic Syndrome Risk

Meaning

Metabolic Syndrome Risk refers to the probability of an individual developing a cluster of interrelated metabolic abnormalities that significantly increase the likelihood of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. This clinical risk is defined by the presence of three or more specific criteria, which include abdominal obesity, elevated blood pressure, dyslipidemia (high triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol), and impaired fasting glucose. Recognizing and mitigating this risk is a cornerstone of preventative medicine and hormonal health.
