Metabolic Syndrome Markers

Meaning

Metabolic Syndrome Markers are a cluster of specific clinical and biochemical indicators that, when present together, significantly increase an individual’s risk for cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. These markers include elevated fasting glucose, increased waist circumference, high blood pressure, elevated triglycerides, and low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol. Their presence signals a state of systemic metabolic dysfunction, often rooted in insulin resistance and chronic inflammation.
