Metabolic Function Equity

Meaning

The principle that all individuals, regardless of their genetic predisposition, age, or pre-existing endocrine conditions, should have equitable opportunities to benefit from wellness programs and health insurance without being penalized for inherent variations in their metabolic processes. This concept acknowledges that factors like insulin sensitivity, body fat distribution, and thyroid hormone utilization, which are central to metabolic function, are not always solely determined by lifestyle choices. Equity demands that programs must account for physiological variance by offering alternative, non-discriminatory pathways to achieve incentives or coverage.
