Mental Calibration

Meaning

Mental Calibration is the dynamic, self-regulatory process of continuously assessing and adjusting one’s internal cognitive, emotional, and physiological state in precise alignment with external environmental realities and desired goals. This metacognitive skill is essentially the fine-tuning of the brain’s interpretive and response systems for optimal accuracy and adaptive performance. It ensures that internal frameworks, such as risk perception or emotional reactivity, are proportionate to the actual situation.
