MEN 2

Meaning

Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 2 (MEN 2) is an inherited syndrome characterized by tumor development in multiple endocrine glands. This genetic condition typically presents with medullary thyroid carcinoma, pheochromocytoma, and in some variants, primary hyperparathyroidism or distinct cutaneous and gastrointestinal features. It stems from specific germline mutations within the RET proto-oncogene.
