Media-Fill Test

Meaning

The Media-Fill Test, also formally known as a process simulation, is a critical validation procedure used in sterile drug manufacturing and compounding to rigorously evaluate the overall integrity of the aseptic process. This test substitutes the actual drug product with a sterile microbiological growth medium, which is then processed exactly as a batch would be. The filled units are subsequently incubated to detect any microbial contamination introduced during the process.
