Master Control Board

Meaning

A term conceptually used to designate the highest hierarchical level of physiological regulation within the human body, encompassing the intricate communication between the central nervous system and the endocrine system. This “board” includes the key integration centers in the brain, such as the hypothalamus, which acts as the nexus translating neural signals into hormonal commands that govern all major homeostatic functions. It is the central authority dictating mood, metabolism, reproduction, and stress response.
