Manufactured Hormones

Meaning

Manufactured Hormones, in the clinical context, are pharmaceutical-grade hormonal products that are produced on a large scale by commercial drug companies under strict regulatory oversight, such as the FDA, ensuring consistent quality, purity, and potency. These products include both synthetic hormones (molecules chemically modified from endogenous hormones) and bio-identical hormones (structurally identical to endogenous human hormones) that are mass-produced in standardized dosage forms. The term distinguishes these regulated, commercially available preparations from custom-made compounded preparations.
