Male Hypogonadism Markers

Meaning

Male Hypogonadism Markers are a specific set of serum analytes used in clinical practice to diagnose and classify the etiology of testosterone deficiency, a condition known as male hypogonadism. The primary markers include total testosterone, free testosterone, Luteinizing Hormone (LH), and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH), along with Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin (SHBG). Interpretation of these markers allows for the differentiation between primary testicular failure and secondary hypothalamic-pituitary dysfunction.
