Male Hormonal Decline

Meaning

Male Hormonal Decline describes the gradual, age-related reduction in the production and bioavailability of key endocrine hormones in men, predominantly testosterone and dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA). This physiological process, sometimes clinically referred to as andropause or late-onset hypogonadism, leads to a constellation of symptoms including decreased libido, loss of muscle mass, increased visceral fat, and cognitive changes. It is a natural yet often modifiable aspect of male aging that requires clinical assessment.
