Male Factor Infertility

Meaning

A clinical diagnosis characterized by an impairment in a man’s reproductive capacity, often due to abnormalities in sperm production, function, or delivery, which contributes to the couple’s inability to achieve conception after one year of regular, unprotected intercourse. This condition accounts for approximately half of all infertility cases and necessitates a comprehensive evaluation of the male endocrine and reproductive systems. Hormonal imbalances, particularly in the hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis, are frequent underlying causes.
