Magnesium ATP

Meaning

Magnesium ATP refers to the primary, biologically active form of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) within all living cells, where the ATP molecule is non-covalently bound to a magnesium ion. This complex, rather than free ATP, is the actual substrate utilized by the vast majority of ATP-dependent enzymes. The formation of Magnesium ATP is fundamentally necessary for energy transfer and metabolic function.
