Longevity Lever

Meaning

A Longevity Lever is a quantifiable biological pathway, lifestyle intervention, or therapeutic target that, when modulated, exerts a disproportionately large and positive influence on an individual’s healthspan and lifespan. These levers are often upstream regulators of fundamental aging processes, such as cellular senescence, mitochondrial dysfunction, or chronic inflammation. In the hormonal health domain, optimizing sleep, maintaining insulin sensitivity, and balancing sex steroid hormones are recognized as potent Longevity Levers that can significantly alter the trajectory of age-related decline. Identifying and activating these levers is the core strategy of preventative and longevity medicine.
