Local RAAS

Meaning

The Local Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System, or Local RAAS, refers to the independent, tissue-specific operation of the RAAS components within various organs, separate from the systemic circulating system. This localized activity generates angiotensin II and other active peptides directly within the target tissue. It signifies an organ’s capacity to regulate its own cellular and vascular functions.
