Light Dose Metrics

Meaning

Light Dose Metrics are the quantitative parameters used to precisely measure and characterize the chronobiologically relevant properties of light exposure, moving beyond simple lux measurements. These metrics include the intensity, duration, timing, and most critically, the spectral composition of the light received by the retina. Clinical utilization of these metrics allows for the accurate prescription of light therapy to modulate circadian rhythms and optimize hormonal signaling.
