LH Receptor Agonist

Meaning

An LH Receptor Agonist is a pharmacological compound, either a synthetic analog or an endogenous substance, that binds to and activates the Luteinizing Hormone (LH) receptor, a G protein-coupled receptor primarily situated on gonadal cells. By mimicking the action of native LH, this agent stimulates the synthesis and secretion of steroid hormones from the testes or ovaries. These agonists are clinically used to stimulate gonadal function in cases of infertility or hormonal deficiency.
