Lean Mass Reduction

Meaning

Lean mass reduction refers to the measurable decrease in the total amount of non-fat body tissue, which primarily includes skeletal muscle, bone, and organ mass. This is a critical clinical marker in hormonal health, as an involuntary decline, particularly of muscle mass (sarcopenia), is strongly correlated with aging, metabolic dysfunction, and inadequate anabolic hormone signaling. Preventing or reversing lean mass reduction is a core objective of longevity and hormone optimization programs.
