Late Initiation MHT

Meaning

Late Initiation Menopausal Hormone Therapy refers to the practice of commencing systemic hormone therapy, typically estrogen with or without progestogen, in women who are well past the initial stages of menopause, often ten or more years after their final menstrual period or after the age of 60. This contrasts significantly with initiating therapy during the perimenopausal period or within a few years of menopause onset, which is generally considered early initiation.
