KNDy Neuron

Meaning

KNDy neurons represent a specific population of neurons co-expressing Kisspeptin, Neurokinin B, and Dynorphin peptides, primarily situated within the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus. These specialized cells serve as crucial integrators of various signals, translating them into precise modulation of Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) secretion, which is fundamental for reproductive function.
