K-Anonymization

Meaning

K-Anonymization is a data privacy technique applied in clinical research and health informatics to ensure that the release of patient data, even after direct identifiers are removed, does not allow for the re-identification of an individual. In the context of hormonal health data, it means that for any combination of non-sensitive attributes—such as age, gender, and general hormone levels—there are at least k individuals sharing that exact combination in the released dataset. This process is crucial for safely sharing large-scale datasets for longevity and wellness research.
