Jet Lag

Meaning

Jet lag, clinically known as desynchronosis, represents a temporary physiological condition resulting from rapid travel across multiple time zones. This syndrome arises when an individual’s internal circadian clock, which regulates various biological processes over approximately 24 hours, becomes misaligned with the external light-dark cycle of the new destination. The condition manifests as a collection of symptoms stemming from this temporal mismatch.
