Intense Movement

Meaning

Intense Movement is defined as physical activity performed at a high relative intensity, typically exceeding 70% of an individual’s maximal heart rate or reaching a high rating on the Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) scale. Physiologically, this level of exertion forces the body to rely heavily on anaerobic metabolism, leading to significant and rapid physiological adaptations. These short, demanding bursts are essential for stimulating key hormonal and metabolic pathways in a time-efficient manner.
