Insulin-Like Factor 3

Meaning

Insulin-Like Factor 3 (INSL3) is a peptide hormone belonging to the relaxin-insulin-like family, primarily synthesized and secreted by Leydig cells within the testes in males and, to a lesser extent, by ovarian cells in females. This circulating hormone is distinct from insulin and primarily functions as a signaling molecule involved in specific developmental and physiological processes.
