Inhibin B

Meaning

Inhibin B is a dimeric glycoprotein hormone, primarily synthesized by Sertoli cells in male testes and granulosa cells in female ovaries. Its fundamental physiological role involves selective suppression of Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) secretion from the anterior pituitary gland. This hormone serves as a crucial component in the feedback regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis.
