Inflammatory Response Dampening

Meaning

Inflammatory Response Dampening is a clinical and physiological strategy focused on reducing the magnitude and duration of chronic, low-grade systemic inflammation, often referred to as “inflammaging.” This process does not eliminate the necessary acute inflammatory response to injury, but rather targets the pathological, persistent elevation of pro-inflammatory cytokines and markers. Successful dampening is evidenced by a reduction in circulating C-reactive protein (CRP) and other inflammatory mediators. This is a critical intervention for improving hormonal sensitivity and slowing age-related decline, as inflammation directly impairs receptor function.
