Inflammatory Markers

Meaning

Inflammatory Markers are measurable biological indicators, often proteins or cytokines found in the blood, whose concentrations increase in response to tissue injury, infection, or chronic metabolic stress. Elevated levels, such as high-sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP) or specific interleukins, are closely associated with systemic inflammation that can impair insulin signaling and disrupt healthy endocrine feedback loops. They serve as objective proxies for underlying subclinical pathology.
