Inflammatory Cytokine Profiles

Meaning

The quantitative and qualitative assessment of a patient’s circulating levels of signaling proteins, known as cytokines, that mediate and regulate systemic inflammation. These profiles typically include key pro-inflammatory markers such as Interleukin-6 (IL-6), Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-α), and high-sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP). Elevated pro-inflammatory profiles are a strong indicator of chronic, low-grade systemic inflammation, a driver of accelerated aging and hormonal dysregulation.
