Inflammation Cascade Mitigation

Meaning

Inflammation Cascade Mitigation is the clinical strategy of intervening to reduce the magnitude and duration of the complex, self-propagating biochemical sequence of events known as the inflammatory cascade. This cascade involves the sequential release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, chemokines, and eicosanoids, which, while essential for acute defense, become detrimental when chronically activated. Mitigation is a core goal in hormonal health, as chronic low-grade inflammation directly impairs cellular receptor sensitivity and disrupts the function of the HPA, HPT, and HPG axes. The objective is to restore a healthy, non-pathological inflammatory balance.
