Inferential Privacy

Meaning

Inferential privacy, in a biological and clinical context, refers to the inherent mechanisms or deliberate practices that limit the direct exposure of highly granular, individual data, instead relying on derived or aggregated information for systemic regulation or decision-making. This principle acknowledges that direct, continuous monitoring of every physiological variable might be unnecessary or even counterproductive for maintaining homeostasis or protecting sensitive health information.
