In Vitro Diagnostics

Meaning

In vitro diagnostics, or IVD, are clinical tests performed on biological samples, such as blood, urine, or saliva, outside of the living body to detect diseases, conditions, or infections. These tests provide essential quantitative data on biomarkers, including hormone concentrations, to inform clinical decision-making regarding diagnosis, treatment selection, and monitoring. They serve as the objective basis for personalizing hormonal health protocols.
