Immunological Reaction

Meaning

Any specific or non-specific response mounted by the immune system in reaction to an antigen, which can be an external pathogen, a foreign substance, or an endogenous cellular component. These reactions encompass a spectrum from protective immunity, such as fighting infection, to pathological responses, including allergic reactions or autoimmune disease. In the context of therapy, they represent the body’s recognition and response to a therapeutic agent or its biological target.
