Immunological Infertility

Meaning

Immunological infertility describes a condition where the body’s immune system detrimentally affects reproductive capacity. This involves an adverse immune response, often producing autoantibodies against spermatozoa, oocytes, or reproductive tract components, or alloantibodies against partner gametes. Such responses impair gamete function, fertilization, or early embryonic development, hindering conception.
