Immunological Dissonance

Meaning

Immunological Dissonance describes a state of functional disharmony within the immune system, characterized by the simultaneous presence of chronic, low-grade systemic inflammation and a compromised or dysregulated adaptive immune response. This lack of appropriate coordination prevents the immune system from maintaining optimal surveillance and homeostasis. The resulting imbalance often contributes to the development of autoimmune conditions, chronic sensitivities, or increased susceptibility to infectious agents.
