Immune System Dysregulation

Meaning

Immune system dysregulation describes a state where the finely tuned balance of the body’s immune response is disturbed, resulting in either excessive, misdirected, or insufficient immunological activity. This deviation from normal homeostatic control can manifest as chronic inflammation, autoimmunity, or immunodeficiency. Given the extensive crosstalk between the immune and endocrine systems, hormonal imbalances frequently contribute to this dysregulation. Clinically, this state can underlie a spectrum of chronic health conditions.
