Hysteroscopy

Meaning

Hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive gynecological procedure used to visualize the inside of the uterine cavity and the cervical canal. A thin, lighted telescope-like instrument called a hysteroscope is inserted through the vagina and cervix, allowing direct examination and diagnosis of intrauterine pathology. This technique is invaluable for investigating abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility, and recurrent pregnancy loss, offering a direct view of the endometrial surface.
