Hypospadias

Meaning

Hypospadias is a congenital condition affecting males where the opening of the urethra is not located at the tip of the penis but rather on the underside, or ventral surface, of the shaft, near the scrotum, or in the perineum. This anatomical variation is one of the most common birth defects involving the male reproductive system, requiring surgical correction to ensure normal voiding and sexual function. The severity varies significantly among affected individuals.
